Kabir Singh star Shahid Kapoor is all set to share the screen with his father Pankaj Kapur, in his next which is the official Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey. Pankaj Kapoor will reportedly play the role of Shahid Kapoor's character's mentor in the movie.
Confirming the report, Trade specialist Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Confirmed: Father-son on big screen again... #PankajKapur to play mentor to #ShahidKapoor in #Jersey... Costars #MrunalThakur... Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original #Telugu version... 28 Aug 2020 release.”
The father-son duo will reunite onscreen after a gap of four years. Pankaj Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor earlier worked together in Shandaar, which also stars Alia Bhatt. In Shandaar, Pankaj Kapoor played Alia Bhatt's father role. The father-son duo also worked together in Mausam, also starring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.
Jersey remake will be helm by Gowtam Tinnanauri, the director of the original as well. The film backed by Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Aman Gill and is releasing on 28th August 2020.
