During an episode of India Ke Top 1 Percent – The Anil Kapoor Show, the veteran actor recalled Sunita's unique pre-marriage condition and revealed that she once went on their honeymoon without him.
Sunita Kapoor Had One Condition Before Marriage
Anil Kapoor revealed that Sunita had made one thing very clear before agreeing to marry him. She did not want to enter the kitchen after marriage.
Instead of seeing the condition as a problem, Anil said it motivated him to work harder. At that point in his career, he was still trying to establish himself in the film industry. He realised that he needed to become successful enough to fulfil Sunita's wish.
Anil explained that he took responsibility for making sure his wife would not have to enter the kitchen. According to the actor, Sunita has still not entered the kitchen to this day.
Anil Kapoor Was Still Struggling When They Met
Anil and Sunita's relationship began long before he became one of Hindi cinema's most recognised stars. The couple first connected through a prank phone call in the early 1970s.
Anil has recalled that a friend gave Sunita his number and asked her to prank-call him. The actor became attracted to her voice during that first conversation. They later met at a party and gradually became friends before their relationship turned romantic.
At that time, Anil was struggling financially and professionally, while Sunita was already working as a model. He has previously recalled that she supported him during those difficult years, including helping with expenses when they were dating.
Sunita Went On Their Honeymoon Without Anil
One of the most surprising parts of Anil Kapoor's latest revelation was the story of their honeymoon.
While discussing travelling alone on India Ke Top 1 Percent, Anil remembered that Sunita had actually gone abroad for their honeymoon without him. The reason was his professional commitment: he had to return to shooting just a few days after their wedding.
Anil recalled the incident with affection and referred to Sunita as the “Queen” of his heart.
