Ajay Devgn brought his trademark straight-faced humour to The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 while promoting his upcoming film Drishyam: The Conclusion.
Ajay appeared on the season premiere alongside Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and director Abhishek Pathak. During the conversation, host Kapil Sharma spotted an opportunity to joke about Ajay’s strong connection with Goa.
Kapil pointed out that several of Ajay’s popular films, including Golmaal, Singham and the Drishyam franchise, have been associated with Goa.
Kapil Brings Up Goa’s Famous Feni
Kapil then took the joke a step further by asking Ajay whether his repeated connection with Goa had something to do with the state’s famous feni or its relatively affordable seafood.
The comedian also pointed out that the trailer of Drishyam: The Conclusion was launched in Goa.
Ajay, however, gave a straightforward response. He said that he finds Goa relaxing and clarified that he does not drink feni.

Kapil did not let the conversation end there. He jokingly suggested that even if Ajay did not drink feni himself, he could at least bring some for somebody else.
That gave Ajay the perfect opportunity to turn the joke around.
Ajay made a cheeky reference to Kapil’s own past association with alcohol and told him that feni had already caused enough trouble in his life. The remark immediately made Kapil laugh and shifted the focus of the joke from Ajay to the comedian himself.
Archana Puran Singh Joins The Banter
The exchange became even more entertaining when Archana Puran Singh joined in.
Kapil denied drinking feni, but Archana jokingly suggested that Kapil would drink anything if it was available for free.
The playful conversation continued with Kapil attempting to defend himself while the other guests enjoyed the exchange.

Kapil did not stop after the feni conversation.
He joked that Ajay had an advantage because the actor gets paid to travel to Goa, while ordinary tourists have to spend their own money for a holiday there.
Kapil also mentioned Goa’s beaches, forts and food before bringing the conversation back to Drishyam. He joked that the franchise had even helped make Pav Bhaji a memorable part of Goa-related conversations among fans.
The Pav Bhaji reference was particularly fitting because food and specific dates have become recurring elements of the Drishyam storyline.

The exchange showcased the comfortable comic chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Kapil Sharma.

The new season premiered on September 26, with new episodes streaming every Saturday.
Ajay Devgn Returns As Vijay Salgaonkar
The promotional appearance comes just days before the release of Drishyam: The Conclusion.
Ajay is returning as Vijay Salgaonkar, while Shriya Saran and the other returning cast members reprise their roles. Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj are among the notable additions to the franchise.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

Goa has remained an important visual and conversational element associated with several of Ajay Devgn’s films.
