Actor Shivam Roy Prabhakar is working on writing and direction, says, ‘ Acting independently won’t work anymore; multitasking is necessary’
Shivam Roy Prabhakar, a young actor, quickly learned his lesson about film industry. The 23-year-old actor from Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, has been in the film industry for five years and has already tried his hand at writing and directing in addition to acting.
“You see, acting as a career alone won’t cut it in the modern world; multitasking is crucial. The top names in the film industry are attempting to write, produce, and direct. I have two films with me in the lead that are ready for release, I have directed a music video, and I am finishing up the writing for Raam Rachi Rakha. In the upcoming months, I am excited to both appear in and direct it, says actor Shivam Roy Prabhakar.
The movie is currently under pre-production, and Ayodhya will serve as the location for the shooting soon. “Love in Dehradun will be released in theatres, but I’m starring in The Third Hacker with newbie Priya Sharma, which is set for an OTT release. In the latter, Karishma Wable and I are matched up. I’m hoping both of my projects will be out this year,” he continues.
In two songs, Shivam Roy Prabhakar is a featured actor. “My first song was Chaal Ghazab Hai with Jannat Zubair sung by Pawni Pandey and Prince Yadav, and it was followed by Haan Karde featuring Ashi Singh and I. I’ve tried my hand at directing with Kailashi Avinashi for Lucknow vocalist Vardaan Singh, he says.
Shivam Roy Prabhakar describes his path to us by saying, “Someone saw me and offered me a part in Ram Leela. My parents initially baulked but eventually consented. I won my class in Class X and began acting in plays in Delhi and with the theatrical club at Aligarh Muslim University.
He met Mohd Ali Shah, an actor and Naseeruddin Shah’s nephew, at AMU, and he suggested relocating to Mumbai. “I stayed in his apartment for the first two months, but after that, you have to face your own struggles. I began the audition practise and performed numerous minor characters to last. I was able to persevere thanks to episodes on CID and Crime Patrol. I then had little parts in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Dasvi, and Suryaputra Karna in between.
