Aasif Khan Says He Entered Bigg Boss 20 Only to Win

Panchayat actor Aasif Khan has entered Bigg Boss 20 with a clear goal — winning the show. The actor also revealed why he wants to follow Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and avoid unnecessary aggression inside the house.

Aasif Khan has entered Bigg Boss 20 with a straightforward ambition: he wants to win the reality show. Best known for his work in Panchayat, Mirzapur and Paatal Lok, the actor believes his career should not be defined by just one popular character.

Ahead of entering the house, Aasif spoke to Amar Ujala about his expectations, his strategy and what he hopes viewers will discover about him during the show. He made it clear that he considers himself capable of reaching the finale and competing for the trophy.

According to Aasif, having a large fan following should not be the only reason for a contestant to reach the finale. He believes contestants should be judged on their ability, personality and performance inside the house.

‘I Came to Become the Winner’

While discussing his popularity after Panchayat, Aasif said that his fan base is not limited to the Amazon Prime Video series. He pointed out that he has also worked in projects such as Mirzapur and Paatal Lok.

The actor said he does not know exactly how large his fan following is, but he believes the number of followers should not decide who deserves to reach the finale.

Aasif feels confident about his own chances. He said he considers himself capable of reaching the finale and becoming the winner of Bigg Boss 20.

His competitive approach is interesting because he has simultaneously described himself as a soft-hearted person who prefers teamwork and conversation over confrontation.

Why Aasif Khan Wants to Follow Mahatma Gandhi

One of the most interesting things Aasif discussed before entering Bigg Boss 20 was his approach to aggression.

The reality show is known for heated arguments, disagreements and intense confrontations between contestants. However, Aasif said he would prefer not to depend on aggression to make an impact.

He referred to Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and said he wants to follow that approach inside the house. Instead of getting into unnecessary fights, the actor hopes to use humour, communication and his personality to entertain viewers.

Aasif also admitted that it is difficult to predict exactly how he will behave once he is actually inside the Bigg Boss house. He said people can sometimes discover a different side of themselves in such an environment.

Aasif Says He Is a Soft-Hearted Person

Despite his determination to win, Aasif described himself as someone who is generally soft-hearted and comfortable working with a team.

He said he would make every effort to avoid aggression unless a situation genuinely required him to respond. His stated plan is to keep people entertained through humour and conversations rather than constantly looking for confrontations.

This approach could become an important part of his journey as the season progresses. While Aasif wants to win, he also wants audiences to see his personality beyond the characters that made him popular.

From ‘Panchayat’ Fame to Bigg Boss

Aasif became widely recognised among audiences for his role in Panchayat. However, he has repeatedly stressed that his acting career extends beyond the popular comedy-drama.

He has appeared in several films and streaming projects, including Mirzapur and Paatal Lok. His entry into Bigg Boss 20 also gives him an opportunity to present himself directly to audiences without the limitations of a scripted character.

In an earlier interview with India Today, Aasif similarly said he wanted viewers to know him as Aasif rather than only as his Panchayat identity.

Salman Khan Was a Major Reason for Joining

Aasif also revealed that Salman Khan was one of the biggest reasons he agreed to participate in Bigg Boss 20.

The actor said he is a big fan of Salman and wanted to experience the reality show hosted by the Bollywood superstar. He also saw the programme as an important opportunity to enter television.

Aasif started his career in theatre before moving into films and OTT projects. According to him, television was the one major medium he had not explored extensively. He felt that if he was going to make a television debut, Bigg Boss was one of the biggest platforms available.

His Family Was Excited About Bigg Boss 20

Aasif revealed that his mother and elder sister were particularly excited about his participation. In fact, he said they were already big Bigg Boss followers even before he became a contestant.

His family encouraged him to enjoy the experience rather than overthink the competition. Aasif said their excitement about his entry was even greater than his own.

The actor also named Sidharth Shukla as his favourite Bigg Boss winner. He said Sidharth’s personality had strongly impressed him.

What to Expect From Aasif Khan

Aasif Khan's Bigg Boss 20 journey combines two seemingly different sides of his personality: a strong desire to win and a stated preference for avoiding unnecessary aggression.

Whether he can stick to his non-violent approach in the highly competitive environment of the Bigg Boss house remains to be seen. The actor has already made his ambition clear — he did not enter simply to participate.

He wants to reach the finale, compete for the trophy and show viewers that the actor they know from Panchayat has many more sides to his personality.
