Aaradhya Bachchan may have grown up surrounded by Bollywood’s biggest names, but like many teenagers, she has her own musical favourites. Interestingly, her love for international pop recently gave Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan an unexpected musical experience.
Abhishek revealed that Aaradhya took both her parents to an Ariana Grande concert during a family holiday. The actor admitted that he was not familiar with Ariana’s music before attending the concert. However, what he witnessed on stage completely changed his perception of the global pop star.
Abhishek Bachchan Did Not Know a Single Song
Speaking about music during an interaction with BBC Asian Network, Abhishek opened up about his own musical preferences as well as Aaradhya’s playlist.
The actor has a strong fondness for classic Hindi film music and mentioned legendary names including Kishore Kumar, R.D. Burman, S.D. Burman, Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri.
But Aaradhya’s musical world is considerably more diverse. According to Abhishek, his daughter listens to contemporary singers such as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo.
Recalling the Ariana Grande concert, Abhishek admitted that he went to the show without knowing even one song. Despite that, Ariana’s performance left a strong impression on him.
Ariana Grande’s Voice Left Abhishek Impressed
Abhishek’s biggest takeaway from the concert was Ariana Grande’s singing ability. The actor was reportedly amazed by the singer’s vocal range and stage performance.
His reaction also reflects how music can cross generational boundaries. While Abhishek grew up listening to legendary Hindi film composers and singers, Aaradhya belongs to a generation heavily influenced by global pop culture.
Rather than dismissing music that he was unfamiliar with, Abhishek appreciated Ariana’s talent after experiencing her performance live.
Aaradhya Bachchan Playlist Is More Than Just Pop
Interestingly, Aaradhya’s musical choices are not limited to contemporary pop. Abhishek has previously described her taste as “eclectic.”
Apart from Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, she reportedly enjoys rock music and bands such as Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Metallica.
This means that the Bachchan household has a rather interesting mix of musical generations. Abhishek’s love for classic Bollywood music and Aaradhya’s international playlist represent two very different eras, yet both seem to coexist comfortably.
A Special Family Experience for the Bachchans
The Ariana Grande concert also offered a sweet glimpse into the bond between Aaradhya and her parents.
Usually, parents introduce their children to their favourite songs and artists. In this case, the roles were reversed. Aaradhya became the one introducing Abhishek and Aishwarya to an international pop sensation.
For Abhishek, the experience appears to have been more than simply accompanying his daughter. It became an opportunity to discover an artist he had never seriously listened to before.
Abhishek Bachchan’s Upcoming Film King
On the professional front, Abhishek Bachchan is gearing up for his next major release, King. The actor will reportedly play an important antagonist in the Shah Rukh Khan-led action thriller.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi. King is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026.
For now, however, it is Aaradhya Bachchan’s music choice that has given Abhishek a memorable family story. He may not have known Ariana Grande’s songs before the concert, but her live performance clearly managed to win him over.
