Aamir Khan could be heading into a new genre with an ambitious Aamir Khan Superhero Film currently being discussed with producer Sajid Nadiadwala and filmmaker R. Balki.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Aamir is in preliminary talks with Sajid for the project, which is expected to be directed by R. Balki. The film is still at a very early stage, with the scripting process actively underway.
Aamir has reportedly been approached for the project and has shown interest in the idea. However, there is no formal commitment from the actor at this stage. The discussions are expected to continue as the makers develop the screenplay and overall vision.
Aamir Khan Has Not Signed the Film Yet
While the combination of Aamir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and R. Balki has already generated excitement, the Aamir Khan Superhero Film is far from being officially confirmed.
The project is currently being developed at the scripting level. The makers are reportedly working on several important elements, including the screenplay, character arc and production design.
Aamir is known for taking considerable time before committing to a film. He generally prefers to have a strong and substantially locked screenplay before giving his final approval. As a result, the team is said to be working closely with him while developing the story.
This also means that details such as the character Aamir may play, the title, supporting cast and release date have not been revealed yet.
First Collaboration Between Aamir, Sajid and Balki
If the project moves forward, it would mark a first-time professional collaboration between Aamir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and R. Balki.

Aamir and Sajid reportedly share a long-standing friendship but have never produced a feature film together. Balki, meanwhile, has established a reputation for making films based on unusual ideas and unconventional characters.
The filmmaker has directed movies including Cheeni Kum, Paa, Ki & Ka, Pad Man and Chup: Revenge of the Artist. His approach to storytelling could make the Aamir Khan Superhero Film different from the conventional superhero projects seen in Indian cinema.
R. Balki Could Bring a Different Superhero Story
R. Balki is not traditionally associated with the superhero genre. Most of his films have focused on human relationships, unusual characters and high-concept ideas rather than large-scale action spectacles.
That makes his potential collaboration with Aamir particularly interesting.
If the Aamir Khan Superhero Film becomes a reality, Balki could bring his own storytelling style to the genre instead of simply following the established formula of superhero movies.
The report also notes that the makers are envisioning the project on a significant scale. Production design and the overall cinematic world will therefore be important parts of the development process.
Aamir Khan Had Earlier Explored Another Superhero Project
Interestingly, this is not Aamir Khan's first attempt to explore the superhero genre.
Last year, the actor was reportedly in discussions with Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for a Pan-India superhero film. The two sides held multiple meetings and narrations over several months.
However, that project was eventually shelved because of issues related to the script. Aamir is now reportedly considering another superhero project, this time with Sajid Nadiadwala and R. Balki.
The development suggests that Aamir continues to be interested in attempting something outside the genres most closely associated with his career.
Aamir’s Other Upcoming Projects
The Aamir Khan Superhero Film is currently only in the discussion stage, while the actor already has other projects in development.
His confirmed upcoming project is filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's Lalkaara, a period sports drama based on the historic 1952 India-Pakistan Test series. The film is scheduled to begin production in November 2026.
Aamir is also expected to reunite with Rajkumar Hirani for a potential 3 Idiots sequel. Recent reports have indicated that the original lead cast could return, although the project remains in development.
There have also been reports connecting Aamir with Race 4, but that project too remains at the discussion stage.
Will Aamir Khan Actually Become a Superhero?
For now, the answer remains uncertain.
The Aamir Khan Superhero Film has not received an official announcement, and the actor has not formally signed the project. The script is still being developed, and the makers are expected to spend the coming months refining the story and production plans.
However, Aamir's reported interest makes the project notable. A collaboration between one of Bollywood's most detail-oriented actors, a major producer like Sajid Nadiadwala and an unconventional filmmaker like R. Balki could result in a superhero film unlike the usual Hindi action spectacles.
For audiences, the biggest question will be whether Aamir eventually gives the project his approval. If he does, the film could become one of the more unusual superhero ventures currently being discussed in Bollywood.
