Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has opened to a spectacular response at the box office. The third instalment of the popular crime-thriller franchise has collected ₹176.50 crore net in India during its opening weekend, according to trade tracking figures, putting the film among the biggest Hindi openers of 2026.
Released on October 2, the Abhishek Pathak directorial benefited from the Gandhi Jayanti holiday and the strong audience following built by the first two films. The film has also crossed ₹272 crore worldwide in just three days, showing that the franchise has considerable appeal beyond the domestic market.
Here are five major milestones achieved by the film in its opening weekend.
1. Biggest Opening for an Ajay Devgn Film
The biggest talking point is that Drishyam 3 has delivered the strongest three-day opening of Ajay Devgn’s career.
The film collected ₹62 crore on Friday, followed by ₹53.50 crore on Saturday and ₹61 crore on Sunday. That took its India net total to ₹176.50 crore.
This is a major jump compared with Singham Again, which previously held the distinction of being Ajay Devgn’s biggest opening-day grosser with ₹43.50 crore, according to India Today’s trade comparison.
2. ₹176 Crore in Just Three Days
The film’s opening weekend number itself is remarkable. Crossing ₹176 crore net within three days places Drishyam 3 among the biggest opening weekends recorded by a Hindi film.
Its Sunday performance was particularly strong. After collecting ₹53.50 crore on Saturday, the film bounced back with around ₹61 crore on Sunday, indicating that audience interest remained strong through the weekend.
The film recorded around ₹211.80 crore in India gross during the same period.
3. ₹272 Crore Worldwide
The film has also performed strongly internationally.
According to reported trade figures, Drishyam 3 collected approximately ₹61 crore from overseas markets during its first three days. Combined with its India gross of ₹211.80 crore, the film reached a worldwide gross of approximately ₹272.80 crore by the end of its opening weekend.
That puts the film within striking distance of the ₹300 crore worldwide mark very early in its theatrical run.
4. Second-Highest Weekend Opener of 2026
Another major achievement is the film’s position among the biggest opening weekends of the year.
With ₹176.50 crore net in India, Drishyam 3 has emerged as the second-highest opening weekend grosser of 2026, behind Dhurandhar 2, according to multiple reports.
The film has therefore moved ahead of several major releases that had earlier occupied the top positions on the annual box-office chart.
5. Beats the Earlier Drishyam Films
The latest film has also dramatically outperformed its predecessors during the opening weekend.
According to India Today’s comparison, Drishyam (2015) earned ₹23.05 crore during its opening weekend, while Drishyam 2 (2022) collected ₹64.14 crore during the same period. Drishyam 3, with ₹176.50 crore, has surpassed both by a substantial margin.
The numbers underline the growth of the franchise over the past decade.
Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar Returns
One of the biggest reasons behind the film’s strong opening is the return of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. The character has become one of the actor’s most recognisable roles, particularly because of the franchise’s suspense-driven storytelling.
The third film also brings back Tabu and Shriya Saran, while adding performers including Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj to the cast.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion continues the story of Vijay and his family while introducing another mystery that puts them under pressure.
What Comes Next?
The biggest question now is whether Drishyam 3 can maintain its momentum during the weekdays.
With a ₹176.50 crore opening weekend already secured, the film has established a strong foundation for its first week. Its performance on Monday and the following weekdays will determine how quickly it moves towards the ₹300 crore mark domestically and how high its final lifetime collection can go.
For Ajay Devgn, however, the opening weekend has already delivered a major career milestone. Drishyam 3 has transformed one of Bollywood’s most successful thriller franchises into an even bigger box-office force.
