The story will once again follow Vijay and his family as they face a new challenge surrounding the case that has remained at the centre of the franchise. Jaideep Ahlawat is also associated with the film, adding another interesting element to the thriller.

Drishyam 3 is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 2, 2026.

2. Ramayana Part 1

One of the biggest Indian films of 2026 is undoubtedly Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The ambitious two-part epic stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol playing Lord Hanuman.

Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled to hit theatres on November 6, 2026, while the second part is planned for 2027.

3. Fauzi

After Ramayana, Prabhas will headline another major release with Fauzi.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film is set in the pre-independence era and follows a soldier's journey through war, sacrifice and difficult circumstances.

Prabhas will star alongside Iman Esmail and Anupam Kher. The film is expected to be presented on a large scale with extensive action and visual effects.

Fauzi is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 3, 2026.

4. Avengers: Doomsday

Hollywood will also have a major release before the year ends with Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday.

The film is expected to bring together characters from different parts of the Marvel universe in a massive multiverse storyline. One of its biggest attractions is Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel universe in a new role as Doctor Doom.

5. King

The year will end on a high note for Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan's King.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action thriller will feature SRK in a reportedly intense role as an underworld assassin. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan in important roles.

King has been one of the most anticipated Hindi films of 2026, particularly because it marks the first big-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan.

The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 24, 2026.

2026 Box Office Could End With a Bang

The final months of 2026 are shaping up to be particularly exciting for the Indian box office. Drishyam 3 brings back a successful thriller franchise, Ramayana promises a massive mythological spectacle, Fauzi brings Prabhas into a period war story, and King gives Shah Rukh Khan another major theatrical release.

Alongside them, Avengers: Doomsday could become one of the biggest Hollywood attractions of the year.

The second half of 2026 is already being described as a strong period for Indian cinema, with several large-scale films competing for audience attention. IMDb's most anticipated list for the latter half of the year also placed Ramayana Part 1, King and Drishyam 3 among the films generating significant audience interest.

With so many major releases lined up, movie fans have plenty of reasons to keep their calendars free for the final months of 2026.
