The protagonist, Bhaijaan (played by Salman Khan), is a self-defense trainer who lives a happy life with his brothers. He believes in using violence to resolve disputes with anyone who crosses his path. Bhaijaan has a strong aversion to the idea of marriage, as he thinks it would create a rift between him and his brothers. However, a twist in the story arises when it’s revealed that love has already found its way into his brothers’ lives, and they are all in search of a suitable bride for their sibling.

Soon, a girl named Bhagyalakshmi enters Bhaijaan’s life, and he finds himself drawn to her. He decides to change himself for his Southern sweetheart, but soon discovers that Bhagyalakshmi’s family has a dark past involving “Rowdy” Anna. The family is in trouble due to their differences with Anna, and without a second thought, Bhaijaan steps forward to protect them. He goes out of his way to safeguard the family from any harm and ensures that justice prevails in the end.

Let’s begin by addressing the elephant in the room. The acting in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is nothing short of disastrous. Salman Khan’s portrayal of Bhaijaan is subpar, and his three on-screen brothers played by Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, and Jassi Gill are equally guilty of overacting. The same can be said for the three girlfriends played by Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, and Vinali Bhatnagar, whose over-the-top performances are enough to make one feel nauseous. To put it bluntly, their acting is nothing short of a disaster.

It’s ironic that Salman Khan has done better acting in the past, considering that his emotional scenes in this film only evoke laughter instead of tears. It’s hard to believe that this is the same actor who delivered a remarkable performance in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Unfortunately, it’s also the same actor who starred in ‘Race 3’.

On the bright side, Pooja Hegde’s performance is a saving grace in this otherwise dismal film. She does justice to her character and has been given decent screen-time. Venkatesh, who plays her on-screen brother, delivers a solid performance, and it’s evident that such roles are a cakewalk for him. Bhumika Chawla makes a welcome return to the screen after several years and shines as Salman’s on-screen wife. Satish Kaushik steals the show with his impeccable comic timing, as always. Even a talented actor like Abhimanyu Singh has not been able to escape the clutches of Farhad Samji’s direction, and the same can be said for boxer Vijender Singh, whose acting skills leave a lot to be desired.

Writing and direction

Let’s delve into the writing of the film now. It’s safe to say that the writing is one of the weakest aspects of this film. The dialogues are cringe-worthy and lack depth or meaning. It’s evident that the writers tried too hard to include inspirational and patriotic phrases like “Insaniyat mein hai dum, Vande Mataram” and “Upar wale mein hai bada dum, Vande Mataram” which come across as forced and unnatural. It’s a pity that even legendary writers like Bankim Chandra Chatterjee would be disappointed with the writing in this film.

The direction of the film is equally confusing. The writing and direction are so bad that the actors are left with no choice but to overact. The scene where everyone starts whistling to cheer up an unconscious person lying on the ground is a prime example of how the direction of the film lacks sense and logic. It’s difficult to understand what the writers and director were trying to convey in such scenes. Overall, the writing and direction are a letdown and leave much to be desired.

Music of movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is its best part

The background music of the movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is characterized by a modern style, which contributes to the overall quality of the film. A notable advantage of the music is that it is not repetitively used, unlike some other films that rely heavily on a limited number of tracks. Instead, every scene is accompanied by fresh, unique music that helps to keep the viewers engaged and entertained throughout the duration of the film. This aspect is particularly important in the context of the movie, as it contributes to the overall positive viewing experience and helps to keep the audience invested in the storyline.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Movie Review

Salman Khan needs to come to terms with the changing times. Simply taking off his shirt and showcasing his physique will not make a good movie anymore. We are in the year 2023, so what’s the point of making a film that seems to belong to the 1980s era? A typical plot where a man falls in love with a girl and then goes on a mission to save his family, fighting off dozens of enemies single-handedly.

This formula has been used repeatedly in Bollywood and viewers have grown tired of it. If the movie relies solely on Salman’s action sequences, how can it succeed? Recently, Bollywood Life published an article in which Akshay Kumar fans requested the removal of Farhad Samji from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ by writing an open letter. After watching ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, one can see that their request was not unreasonable.

Even ‘true’ Salman Khan fans will be disappointed with this film. If you do decide to watch it, be prepared for a head-scratching experience. It’s time to reduce the torture on the audience and create better content.
