Renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, known for her unapologetic demeanor, recently addressed the possibility of becoming India’s Prime Minister during the trailer launch event of her upcoming Telugu movie, “Razakar: The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad.” The event, held in Mumbai, saw the actress discussing her role as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her directorial venture, “Emergency.”

When asked if she had any aspirations of becoming the country’s Prime Minister in real life, Kangana responded with a touch of humor, referencing her portrayal of Indira Gandhi in “Emergency.” She quipped, “I just did a film called Emergency. After watching that movie, nobody will want me as the Prime Minister.” The film explores the life of the late Prime Minister and is Kangana’s maiden solo directorial project.

In February 2023, Kangana Ranaut asserted that she was not inherently political, stating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “I am a sensitive and sensible person, not a political person. I was asked to join politics many times, I didn’t.” However, by November 2023, she expressed her willingness to contest elections. Responding to reporters about a potential run in the next Lok Sabha elections, she said, “Shri Krishna ki kripa rahi to ladenge (If Lord Krishna showers blessings, I will fight).”
