Batti Gul Meter Chalu helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, who earlier directed Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Divyendu Sharma & Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

The story of the film is from Tehri district of Uttarakhand. The story is about three friends Sushil Kumar Pant aka SK (Shahid Kapoor), Lalita Nautiyal (Shraddha Kapoor) and Sunder Mohan Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma). Where Sushil Kumar is an advocated, Lalita is an aspiring fashion designer and Sundar started a printing factory.
Their life takes a u-turn when Sunder’s printing factory faces the issue of expensive electricity bill of 54 lakhs. He unable to pay his electricity bills, due to which his factory shuts down, and he killed himself. Because of this, Sushil decides to fight his friend’s case in court. In the courtroom, SK faces advocate Gulnar(Yami Gautam).
Shahid Kapoor lives the character Of Sushil Kumar with Perfection, Shraddha Kapoor is in the terrific form, after Stree, she again proved that she is one of the best actors of the current generation, Divyenndu Sharma is just outstanding, he deserves a special mention as the most impactful performance in this film. Yami Gautam nailed it with her super performance especially court scenes.
Shree Narayan Singh direction and film’s dialogues are brilliant. The second half of the film is a perfect mix of full of drama, whistle-worthy moments and superb one-liners. Overall, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is entertaining & social drama film which conveys Its message fairly.
