‘Gadar 2’ Continues Its Strong Box Office Run, Anticipates OTT Release in October – Bollywood Mascot
Mumbai, Bollywood News – ‘Gadar 2,’ featuring Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol in lead roles, has been a force to reckon with at the box office, amassing remarkable earnings over the past month. The film, which has grossed over 500 crore, has faced stiff competition since the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan.’
On Monday, in its 39th day since release, ‘Gadar 2’ collected a substantial 60 lakhs, further boosting its impressive performance. As of September 18th, the domestic box office earnings for ‘Gadar 2’ have now reached a total of 520 crore.
In terms of worldwide collections, ‘Gadar 2’ has raked in a whopping 680 crore. A breakdown of the film’s weekly earnings reveals a stellar performance at the domestic box office, with collections of 284 crore in the first week, 134 crore in the second, 63 crore in the third, 27 crore in the fourth, and 7 crore in the fifth week.
Notably, ‘Gadar 2’ has become the second-highest-grossing Hindi film in India for 2023, trailing behind only Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan.’ Released in January this year, ‘Pathaan’ has amassed 543 crore in domestic box office earnings.
Fans and cinephiles can now look forward to ‘Gadar 2’ making its digital debut next month. Reports indicate that the film, directed by Anil Sharma, will be released on October 6th on the popular OTT platform, JioCinema. The streaming rights for the film have been acquired by JioCinema, generating anticipation among viewers who missed the chance to catch this sequel in theaters.
‘Gadar 2,’ a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ has maintained its stronghold at the box office, following in the footsteps of its predecessor. Both installments have been massive hits with audiences and have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
