83 Film: Finally Ranveer Singh starrer film enters in 100 Crore Club
On the 17th day of its release, Ranveer Singh’s flick ’83,’ which was the number one hero in Hindi cinema until last year, has surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office. This amount for the film’s earnings, which was made at a cost of around Rs 200 crore, is far from a prestige boost for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s film. Previously, three years earlier, the film ‘Padmavat’ of both had surpassed the figure of 100 crores in just four days. The film ‘Padmavat’ is currently ranked eighth among the highest-grossing Hindi films. Simultaneously, Reliance Entertainment’s film ’83,’ which has barely made Rs 100.56 crore so far, is at number 90.
The film ’83’ isn’t the first to reach the Rs 100 crore milestone on the 17th day of its release; Ajay Devgan’s ‘Golmaal 3’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Housefull 2’, Varun Dhawan’s ‘ABCD 2′, Ranbir Kapoor’s Barfi, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Badhaai Ho, and Alia Bhatt’s Raazi haave also reached this milestone already, some of these films did not even cost as much as ’83,’ and as a result, there was little criticism of its earnings. While according to people, films like ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Barfi’ starring Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor were not hit films.
Prior to Ranveer Singh’s film ’83,’ the film ‘Sooryavanshi’ took five days to reach the 100 crore milestone among the released films, despite the fact that Ranveer Singh made a cameo appearance. His and Deepika’s film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ took nine days to reach the magical figure of Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office, while the film ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ramleela’ took ten days.
