Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film, “Jawan,” is all set to hit the silver screens on September 7, 2023, and the Bollywood industry is buzzing with excitement and high expectations. After the success of his previous release, “Pathaan,” the anticipation for “Jawan” is at an all-time high, and trade experts are making bold predictions about its box office performance.

“Pathaan,” which was released earlier in 2023, made a significant mark by collecting Rs. 57 crores on its non-holiday opening day. However, it was on Republic Day that its collections soared to an impressive Rs. 70.50 crores. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is whether “Jawan” can surpass this record-breaking performance.

Trade analyst Atul Mohan is optimistic, saying, “In all languages, the film can collect Rs. 70 crores or even Rs. 80 or Rs. 90 crores. Kuch bhi ho sakta hai.” He specifically predicts that the Hindi version will outperform “Pathaan” with an opening day collection of around Rs. 70 crores.

Vishek Chauhan, the owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, shares this enthusiasm, declaring, “It’ll collect more than Pathaan. On day 1, it’ll earn between Rs. 65 and 70 crores.”

Raj Bansal, owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, emphasizes the importance of an actor’s previous film’s performance, stating, “After Pathaan, there’s no looking back for Shah Rukh Khan.” He predicts that “Jawan” could easily cross Rs. 65 crores on its opening day.

Girish Johar, a seasoned producer and film business analyst, is even more ambitious, projecting a weekend collection of Rs. 300-350 crores for all languages. He points out that the North will benefit from Janmashtami, a major holiday, and believes “Jawan” could gross Rs. 100 crores on its first day worldwide.

The hopes are high that “Jawan” will not only break records but also inspire exhibitors to reopen their cinemas and encourage producers to invest in such cinematic experiences. “Pathaan” currently holds the title of the biggest Hindi grosser, with Rs. 543.05 crores nett in India, but many industry experts, including Taran Adarsh, Girish Johar, and Vishek Chauhan, believe that “Jawan” has a strong chance of surpassing this milestone.

However, Raj Bansal adds a note of caution, emphasizing that the film’s ultimate success will depend on its content, as the music hasn’t achieved the chartbuster status expected. With all eyes on “Jawan,” the Bollywood box office is poised for an exciting and potentially record-breaking performance as it embarks on this cinematic journey.
