A Generous Gesture by the King of Bollywood

Directed by Kabir Khan, the web series titled “The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye” featured Sharvari Wagh and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles. While Shah Rukh Khan didn’t appear on screen, he lent his voice to the series. What astonished everyone was Khan’s decision to work on the project without charging a single penny, as revealed by director Kabir Khan in a recent interview.

A Heartfelt Gesture Towards a Friend

Speaking about Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement in the series, Kabir Khan shared, “When I created ‘The Forgotten Army’ and thought of the 30-second introduction before each episode, I wanted a voice-over that could provide historical context. I thought, who better than Shah Rukh Khan for this task? I just called him and asked, ‘Shah Rukh, I have made a series on the Azad Hind Fauj, will you lend your voice to it?’ Without hesitation, he immediately agreed.”

Kabir Khan expressed his gratitude for Khan’s decision, stating, “He came to the dubbing studio in Bandra one day and provided the voice-over for free. He refused to accept any payment because we know each other.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s selfless act in contributing his voice to “The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye” highlights not just his talent but also his generosity towards his friends in the industry. As fans eagerly await his on-screen return, Khan’s actions continue to inspire admiration and respect.
