Sanjay Leela Bhansali Reveals Why Salman Khan Is His Only Best Friend in the Film Industry
Renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, currently in the spotlight for his web series ‘Heeramandi,’ recently shared insights into his unique friendship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Despite working in a vast and dynamic film industry, Bhansali considers Salman Khan his sole and closest friend.
In a recent interview, Bhansali addressed the long-standing rumors about a fallout between him and Salman Khan, particularly after their ambitious project ‘Inshallah’ was shelved. Contrary to these speculations, Bhansali emphasized the strength and resilience of their bond.
“The only person I still consider a friend in this entire industry is Salman Khan. Even though ‘Inshallah’ didn’t happen, he stands by me. He calls me, checks on me, and genuinely cares about my well-being,” Bhansali shared. He added, “Salman is not concerned about my films; he cares about me as a person. He’ll say, ‘Are you okay? Do you need anything? You messed up, but are you alright?’ That’s the kind of friend he is.”
Bhansali further elaborated on their relationship, highlighting the unwavering support they provide each other. “We might argue during work, and the timing might not always be perfect. But a month later, he’ll call me, and I’ll call him, and we’ll pick up right where we left off. That’s true friendship. I consider myself fortunate to have a friend who, even if we talk once every six months, starts right from where we paused,” he said.
As for Bhansali’s upcoming projects, the filmmaker is working on an epic drama centered around love and war, featuring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. This much-anticipated film is set to release in December 2025.
