Deepika Padukone Plays an Acid Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal in Meghna Gulzar’s Next: Deepika Padukone, who last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat, is all set to play an acid attack survivor in Raazi director Meghna Gulzar’s next. The actress will essay the role of Laxmi Agarwal, who was attacked at the age of 15.
The untitled project will be based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal. Moreover, Deepika Padukone is all set to make her debut as Produce after Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma.
Deepika Padukone confirmed the news in a statement to Mumbai Mirror, she told Mumbai Mirror, “When I heard this story, I was deeply moved as it’s not just one of violence but of strength and courage, hope and victory. It made such an impact on me, that personally and creatively, I needed to go beyond and so the decision to turn producer,”
The film will be directed by Meghna Gulzar, co-producing by Deepika Padukone and the shooting of this untitled project is expected to start in February 2019.
