The Kerala Story Box Office Collection: Adah Sharma's Film Makes a Strong Debut, Earns Impressive Crores at the Box Office
Bollywood News: Despite the controversies surrounding it, ‘The Kerala Story’ finally hit theaters on May 5, 2023, featuring Adah Sharma in the role of Fathima, a Muslim girl. The film’s trailer had sparked objections from the Muslim community and led to political uproar. However, despite these challenges, the film opened strongly at the box office, with collections on par with ‘The Kashmir Files’ on its opening day.

Sudipto Sen’s direction and Vipul Amritlal Shah’s production ‘The Kerala Story’ has managed to make a successful debut despite facing controversies. As per Box Office India’s report, the film has the potential to earn around 7 to 7.5 crores in its initial run.
Interestingly, the film has outperformed Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Circus’ in terms of its opening day collection. The film has a clear agenda and it remains to be seen whether audiences will embrace it or not.
The Controversial ‘The Kerala Story’ Makes Strong Debut in Bollywood
Sudipto Sen’s ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on the real-life incidents of 32,000 women from Kerala who were forcefully converted to Islam and sent to Syria. The film features interviews with those who have experienced this ordeal. Siddhi Idnani plays Gitanjali, a girl who takes her own life, and the film concludes with interviews with Gitanjali’s parents, who share their daughter’s tragic story and urge future generations to be vigilant.
