He has penned a foreword in Gauri's book, where he has shared his experiences from those tough times. How Gauri Khan Became an Interior Designer

Recently, Gauri Khan launched her coffee table book, "My Life in Design," and in the foreword, Shah Rukh Khan shared some memories from the past. He recounted the time when he purchased his first house and Gauri was expecting their first child, Aryan. Shah Rukh mentioned that during his search for a sofa, he found the prices to be exorbitant, which sparked Gauri's interest in interior designing. She started buying raw materials, sketching designs, and then had a carpenter bring them to life.

When Shahrukh Khan bought the first house in Mumbai

In the preface of Gauri Khan's coffee table book, My Life in Design, Shahrukh Khan opened up about the challenges they faced when they bought their first house in Mumbai. Despite the fact that it was beyond their financial means, they felt the need to have a place to live before their elder son Aryan was born. Shahrukh mentioned that they had to make do with what they had and promised to buy things for the house when they had enough money. Shahrukh revealed that they once went to purchase a sofa for their home but found it too expensive. So, they decided to buy the material and Gauri designed it herself, making a sketch of the sofa in a notebook.
