Chhatrapathi Trailer: Prabhas Action-Packed Epic Gets a Hindi Remake
With many South film remakes being made in Bollywood, the trend is shifting as Srinivas makes his debut in the Hindi remake of a South film. Unlike other remakes where a Bollywood actor plays the lead role, Srinivas takes the reins in this new adaptation.
The Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film ‘Chhatrapathi’ has unveiled its trailer, and it is noteworthy that no Hindi actor is featured in this film. Instead, South actor Srinivas Bellamkonda is making his debut in the Hindi film industry through this movie.
The Hindi remake of ‘Chhatrapathi’, directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Penn Studios, is set to release nationwide on May 12. The trailer of the film is packed with action sequences, and features popular Telugu actor Srinivas in the lead role. Alongside him, Nushrat Bharucha plays the female lead, while Sharad Kelkar appears in an important role. The original story of ‘Chhatrapati’ was written by Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad.
Actress Nushrat Bharucha, who plays the female lead in ‘Chhatrapathi’, has praised her co-star Srinivas Bellamkonda, calling him a natural on screen. She also expressed confidence that the pan-India appeal of the film will make people whistle and hoot.
Meanwhile, the film’s producer, Dr. Jayantilal Gadha, has expressed hope that the audience will give lots of love to the film, which he says has elements that will appeal to a pan-India audience. He also pointed to the positive reception of the film’s trailer as evidence of its widespread appeal.
Director VV Vinayak commented during the event, stating that Srinivasa Bellamkonda is a perfect hero for commercial films, who performs high-action and stunts effortlessly. Vinayak further added that Srinivasa’s natural acting is evident on the screen.
Srinivas Bellamkonda, aged 30, is the son of the Telugu producer Suresh Bellamkonda. He made his acting debut with Alludu Seenu in 2014, and Chhatrapati is his tenth film.
