National Awards 2025: Shah Rukh Khan Wins National Award; AR Rahman, Kajol Congratulate

The 71st National Film Awards brought a wave of celebration across Bollywood, especially for Shah Rukh Khan, who clinched his first-ever National Award in his 33-year acting career. King Khan was honoured with the Best Actor award for his performance in Jawan, a film that turned out to be a critical and commercial success.

He shared the honour with Vikrant Massey, who was also named Best Actor for his powerful portrayal in 12th Fail. Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji took home the Best Actress award for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.

AR Rahman Calls Shah Rukh Khan a “Legend”

Soon after the winners were announced on the evening of August 1, fans and fellow celebrities flooded social media with congratulatory messages. Among the first to respond was music maestro AR Rahman, who has himself won the National Award multiple times.

Reacting to Shah Rukh Khan’s heartfelt video thanking his fans and collaborators, Rahman took to social media and wrote,
“Legend! Congratulations.”

His short but powerful tribute resonated with fans across the country, celebrating not only SRK’s win but also his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema.

Kajol Showers Love on Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji & Karan Johar

Actress Kajol, who has shared iconic screen space with Shah Rukh Khan for decades, congratulated not only SRK but also her cousin Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Kajol wrote for Karan Johar, whose film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani won Best Popular Film and Best Choreography (for Dhindhora Baje Re),
“Your name is written all over entertainment! Congratulations.”

Turning to Shah Rukh, she added,
“Big congratulations on your big win!”

Kajol also praised Rani Mukerji for her emotionally gripping performance in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, which earned her the Best Actress title.
