Panchayat Season 4 has once again won over audiences with its heartwarming blend of rural politics and personal connections. The beloved Amazon Prime Video series brought new twists to the story of Phulera village, including the growing romance between Sachiv Ji (played by Jitendra Kumar) and Rinki (played by Sanvikaa). While fans adored their chemistry and subtle romantic moments, many were left wondering — why didn’t the two share a kiss, even as their bond clearly deepened?

Well, it turns out, the kiss was indeed part of the script initially — but it was later removed for a very personal reason.

Sanvikaa Was Not Comfortable With the Scene

In a recent interview, Sanvikaa opened up about the now-deleted kiss scene. According to the actress, director Akshat had informed her that a kissing scene was planned between her character and Sachiv Ji. However, she didn’t feel comfortable performing it.

“When I was told about the kiss scene, I requested two days to think about it. After some reflection, I decided to decline,” Sanvikaa revealed.

She expressed concern about how the audience — especially those who watch Panchayat as a family show — would react to such a moment. It wasn’t just about personal discomfort; it was also about preserving the wholesome tone the show is known for.

The Tank Scene Replaced It

While the kiss didn’t make it to the final cut, the makers retained the emotional essence of the moment through a more subtle, symbolic scene — the one shot on the village’s iconic water tank. Sanvikaa admitted feeling awkward even while shooting that sequence, but credited her co-star Jitendra Kumar for making her feel at ease on set.

“Jeetu is a really nice person, and he helped me stay comfortable throughout the shoot,” she added.

When asked about how her family might react to this storyline, Sanvikaa smiled and said, “We haven’t discussed it yet, but they’re proud of my work in Panchayat. They understand me.”

Panchayat Season 4 continues to maintain its reputation as a clean, family-friendly entertainer, and this behind-the-scenes story only adds to its charm. The decision to skip the kiss and retain emotional subtlety proves once again why the show resonates with such a wide audience. Sometimes, less really is more — especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
