“I Lost Consciousness, and No One Took Me to the Hospital”
In an interview with Galatta India, Samantha recalled the difficult phase she was going through during the shoot. “I got hit on the head and completely lost consciousness. For a moment, I forgot names and everything around me,” she said humorously.
Surprisingly, she revealed that no one on set even thought about taking her to the hospital. “Now when I think back, I realize nobody asked if I needed medical help,” Samantha added, laughing about the situation.
Writer Seeta Menon, who was present during the interview, quickly interjected to remind Samantha that people on set were in touch with a doctor. “You were in shock, so you might not remember,” Seeta said. But Samantha, puzzled, asked, “Which doctor?”
Shooting Was Put on Hold
Samantha admitted that even though she was in shock, she overheard the crew discussing how they had very little time left to wrap up the shoot. “I remember lying there, thinking, ‘I’m coming back, guys. Just give me a moment.’”
She also recalled the surreal moment of being back on set after regaining composure. “There was a stunt guy standing in front of me, and I was just wondering, ‘What am I even doing here?’ I heard them say, ‘Cut! This isn’t working.’”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu Wanted to Quit the Series Due to Myositis
Samantha further revealed that her health struggles almost made her quit Citadel: Honey Bunny. Battling myositis, she doubted if she could handle the physical demands of the role. “I even suggested four top actresses to replace me,” she admitted. However, the show’s makers were determined to have her lead the series.
Looking back, Samantha now feels relieved that she wasn’t replaced. “It feels good knowing I was able to pull through despite everything,” she said with a smile.
