When and Where the Last Rites Will Be Held

In a special tribute, her funeral will be conducted with full state honors. The body will be available for public viewing in Patna on November 6, allowing admirers to pay their last respects. The funeral is scheduled for November 7, when thousands of fans are expected to gather for a final farewell.

At the age of 72, Sharda Sinha leaves behind a legacy of more than a hundred Bhojpuri songs. Known for her powerful and soulful voice, she received the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian awards, for her contribution to Indian folk music. Battling a Serious Illness
Sharda Sinha had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a form of blood cancer) in 2017 and had been fighting the disease for several years. Just a month before her passing, on September 22, her husband Brij Kishore Sinha had passed away due to a brain hemorrhage, adding to her emotional strain. Her son, Anshuman, had shared that she was admitted to the hospital on October 25 due to complications arising from her illness.
