Involvement in Road Accident
According to media reports, Sreenath Bhasi was traveling in a car that collided with a bike. The incident occurred last month, and the Ernakulam Central Police had registered a case following the accident. The victim involved in the collision sustained injuries.
A police official, without providing detailed information, mentioned that Bhasi’s arrest was based on the statement of a witness. After conducting an initial inquiry, the actor was allowed to leave on bail. In addition to the arrest, his driving license has been suspended for one month due to the accident.
Sreenath Bhasi Past Connection to a Drug Case
This isn’t the first time Bhasi has faced legal troubles. Earlier, Kerala police had questioned him in connection with a narcotics investigation tied to notorious gangster Om Prakash. Reports suggest that Bhasi’s name surfaced during the probe, but due to insufficient evidence, no case was filed against him.
The investigation was part of a crackdown on drug trafficking in Kochi, where Om Prakash and his associates were arrested for distributing cocaine at high-profile DJ parties.
Rising Career Despite Controversies
Despite these controversies, Bhasi’s career has been on the rise. His recent film Manjummel Boys became a blockbuster, gaining him widespread recognition. The movie, which grossed over ₹200 crores, has become one of the highest-earning films in the history of Malayalam cinema.
